Gran Caffe Friuli

The café is located near the old city gate of Udine, close to the train station, which is perhaps a 3-minute walk away. I like to go there when I'm traveling by train. The café is something of an institution and is just as popular with locals as it is with tourists. The staff speak English, which is not always the case in Italy. The service is super friendly and fast. Orders are brought out in lovely arrangements. For example, mineral water comes with a bowl of lemon and orange slices. You can sit outside or inside and enjoy your coffee or Aperol. In any case, the Gran Caffè Friuli has charm. Highly recommended.

Great traditional coffee shop with affordable prices, we had 2 cappuccino and 1 cake for less than 7 euro. Worth the walk out of the old town to experience a slower way of life

Very nice cafe, away from the busy road, with excellent pastries, and a friendly service. Indoor and outdoor seating, but have no air conditioning. They keep the doors open and there were a lot of flies inside. The brioche’s are freshly made, and the coffee was very good. Recommended.

Loved this place! A lot of locals come here to hang out in the mornings so I know its good. The sandwich with shrimps was amazing. Also loved the hospitality of server even though he did not speak any english.

Perfect location for a morning coffee and some pastry, as well as for an evening aperitivo. One of my favorite places in Udine.
